Amboseli Sopa Lodge
Location & Access
The lodge is set on about 200 acres of private wooded land, at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, and just outside Amboseli National Park (via Kimana Gate).
By road from Nairobi it’s around 250 km, approx 4–5 hours depending on the route and conditions.
Alternatively you can fly: from Wilson Airport (Nairobi) to the Amboseli area, then a short transfer to the lodge.
Accommodation & Facilities
The lodge has 83 rooms. They are cottage-style, spread across the grounds.
Room types: twin/queens, inter-connecting rooms (great for families), a honeymoon suite, wheelchair accessible rooms.
Rooms feature verandas, garden or Kilimanjaro views, en-suite bathrooms.

Facilities include: swimming pool (and kids’ section), pool bar, bars/lounges (including one with a panoramic view), gift shop, craft market, WiFi in public areas.
Dining: Main restaurant (Kibo), outdoor terrace (Mawenzi), bars for sundowners.

Safari & Activities
Because you’re right by Amboseli National Park, game drives are the main attraction. Large herds of elephants, other wildlife and birdlife make this region special.
Nature walks in the lodge grounds, bird watching, visits to Maasai cultural villages are available.
Natural World Kenya Safaris
The views of Mount Kilimanjaro from the lodge area are a highlight if the weather is clear.
Note: Being “just outside” the park means you’ll need to drive into the park for full safari experiences.
